Herringbone Wrap Bracelet

1974

Price: $35.00

Date: 02/04/2019

Start time: 10:30 am

End time: 12:30 pm

Herringbone is a basic stitch that gets used a lot in long tubular rope necklaces because it's so fast and easy to stitch up.  A few years ago, when two-hole beads started to come onto the market, Gail figured out how to use them with herringbone, and the result is something even easier and faster.  It's also gorgeous, especially with half-tilas in these matte metallic finishes.  And that's precisely what you'll be working with in this brand new project class!  A kit and full color instructions are included in the cost -- but be prepared.  Everyone you know is going to want to snatch this one right off of your wrist!

Some bead weaving experience is necessary.  (Try our Beadweaving 101 class to learn the basics!)

Staff instructor is Michelle.  Class fee includes a kit and instructions!

tree of lifeThese beautiful and intricate-looking wire trees are all over Pinterest.  Don't let their looks fool you, this is a beginners wire project.  Yup, even completely newbies to wire working can make these.  The irregularity of gemstone chips and delicacy of twisted wire give the impression of something done with incredible detail -- and you can convince everyone you slaved over it for days -- but you'll finish your first one in class, and you'll be churning them out after!

These trees make especially good gifts.  Choose your giftees birthstone or favorite color and whip up a one-of-a-kind present like no other.

This class is great for beginners, but we recommend having taken our Jewelry Making for Beginners class.

flat herringbone 2Herringbone stitch is a favorite around here.  It's so fun to do and to look at -- all those angles!  It feels good, too, especially in this wide cuff bracelet.  It's one of the few stitches that most people encounter first in the round or tubular variety, but the flat version is a core stitch that all bead stitchers should learn to do.  And this project is absolutely perfect for that -- no pesky turn-around required!

Prior beadweaving experience is recommended (like our Beadweaving for Beginners class).

We all love instant gratification projects. Okay, no beadwork is instantly gratifying, but these come close. You can sit down and finish one of these in fifteen minutes -- less for you quick stitchers. These little beaded beads are also just plain fun. Turn them into earrings or string a bunch of them onto leather for a necklace that will go with any and everything in your closet. Heck, just put them in a bowl and admire them. Promise you won't be able to stitch just one.
