9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Learn to make delicate twisted wire floral filigrees and attach them to sturdy frames that you make yourself. Choose the project you like best to work on in class. By the time you leave, you’ll have the skills and know-how two create both. This class is an adventurous beginner level level. Students will enjoy the projects and the opportunity to take a class with a world class instructor.
Instructor is Melody MacDuffee, author of three books on wirework, as well as several more recent booklets and dozens of individually published jewelry designs. Melody has taught her distinctive jewelry-making techniques all over the U.S. and as far away as West Africa, where she ultimately co-founded a non-profit that provides paid training and steady jobs at a living wage for disadvantaged young adults of the Krobo tribe. Her Craftsy instructional video, Filigree Jewelry with a Twist!, came out in 2015, and she is a frequent guest artist on Jewelry Television’s Jewel School.
Wire (two spools!) and beads are included in this class. Tools will be provided for you to use during class.
