Wire working increases your jewelry making possibilities exponentially! In this class you will learn all the foundational skills: P-shaped loops, lollipop shaped loops, wrapped loops and spirals, as well as a decorative head pin, an un-beaded chain link, a beaded chain link, jump rings, a hook and eye clasp, and ear wires. You will end the class by using your new skills to create a beaded bracelet and matching pair of earrings.
This is a beginner class, so no experience is needed. All levels of students will enjoy the projects and the opportunity to take a class with a world class instructor.
Instructor is Melody MacDuffee, author of three books on wirework, as well as several more recent booklets and dozens of individually published jewelry designs. Melody has taught her distinctive jewelry-making techniques all over the U.S. and as far away as West Africa, where she ultimately co-founded a non-profit that provides paid training and steady jobs at a living wage for disadvantaged young adults of the Krobo tribe. Her Craftsy instructional video, Filigree Jewelry with a Twist!, came out in 2015, and she is a frequent guest artist on Jewelry Television’s Jewel School.
A full spool of wire and beads are included in this class. Tools will be provided for you to use during class.
