2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This delicate pendant is surprisingly easy to make. Learn the basics of twisting wire and adding beads that complement the glowing colors in these exotic treasures of the sea.
This is a beginner class, so no experience is needed. All levels of students will enjoy the projects and the opportunity to take a class with a world class instructor.
Instructor is Melody MacDuffee, author of three books on wirework, as well as several more recent booklets and dozens of individually published jewelry designs. Melody has taught her distinctive jewelry-making techniques all over the U.S. and as far away as West Africa, where she ultimately co-founded a non-profit that provides paid training and steady jobs at a living wage for disadvantaged young adults of the Krobo tribe. Her Craftsy instructional video, Filigree Jewelry with a Twist!, came out in 2015, and she is a frequent guest artist on Jewelry Television’s Jewel School.
Wire and beads are included in this class, and you will need to purchase the Paua shell bead from Melody’s selection. A range of sizes will be available. Tools will be provided for you to use during class.
